I think there is still a hunger for good music. Recently there has been a shift towards ethnic focused presentation to coincide with the politics in modern life. The problem is ethnic focused presentation is redundant and doesn't open people's mind enough. It normalizes the culture by making it familiar, teaches respect, it may even preserve self-esteem, but it's too easy. Lil Wayne's witty word play, Drake's singing, Kanye's production, and Odd future's tongue-twisters and intelligent lyricism were massive steps forward. The new school rappers are all at the same level of hype, and all at the same level of difficulty too. That may be the ghost writing. It may be guilt connected to lifestyle. It may just be the lack of formal help randomizing the spread of attention to reflect average trapper salary. Whatever the reason, giving up on hip hop to pursue other genres isn't necessary. Explore rap and take it somewhere new before you give up on it especially if it's the genre that sparked your career. There is a market for it, they are just bored.

Today West Coast rapper 92Wave releases his new single "Appealin" featuring Compton rapper and Los Angeles mainstay AD. Delivering Summer vibes over production from Platinum producer RAWSMOOV (Jon Hart - "Who Booty" ft French Montana & E-40), the San Jose and Sacramento bred rapper is stepping out with his first official single.

"Appealin is my first official single, it features Compton, California's own AD who has a major footprint in the game right now. With records featuring Wiz Khalifa, YG, Trey Songz, and The Game, not to mention his debut not once, but twice on FX's show DAVE, this was a perfect fit for this record." 92Wav said in a statement to the press.

"We just want to build the buzz for the Appealin music video that will be amazing, I would love to get on some venues and perform live for my fans soon but only time with tell with Coronavirus having it's impact, so right now my biggest goals for the next few months are to build my interaction with fans directly and to keep knocking out records with heavy hitters in the game to build my streaming numbers and features."

Having earned his way on to HotNewHipHop and his local radio station 97.7 KWIN in Stockton, CA, 92Wav says he has what it takes to take his career to the next level musically and he's honing his skills to have an impact on the West Coast.

"Be on the look out! This year I’m coming stronger than ever to really hone my style and prove I’m a West Coast factor. I got that bounce and steez that the fans are looking for!" 92Wav said.
Overview Drake is a rapper/singer from Toronto Canada. "Dark Lane Demo Tapes" is his first album in a long time that doesn't sacrifice complexity to be empowering. He's singing, he's flowing, and the album cover is even radical enough to be current. Drake is very mainstream, but he built his fame from internet streams on Myspace. This album is a reminder of how talented he is. He isn't pushing his vocals any more than each song calls for. His focus is making good music and he's succeeding at it. Drake rivals Kanye in prevalence, but Kanye is the archetype, and Drake is the genre hybrid. He's made so many collaborations that he has a patent monopoly on relatable hood emotional songs. Defining Track Chicago freestyle is OVO's sound renewed by Giveon. It's nostalgic but it's still progressive. The song isn't the best song on the album but it's a good introduction to Drake's return to his earlier music formula. Final Thoughts Drake deserves absolute loyalty from the rap game and this album cover is proof. The rappers that sing-rap like he did years after he invented it need to pay homage. Drake is a self-proclaimed dog. Now he's making good enough music to modernize the perception of that.
