No matter how divided the world gets, artists like Macklemore don't appeal to any hip hop listening demographic. Odd Future was the face of suburban hip hop despite the social norms of the era.
Although that gave modern rap a cultural security by favoring the ethnicity influence when consuming hip hop, when the mainstream failed to dominate it, they stopped supporting it. They may not prefer Macklemore, but without having relatability/pride in it... the suburban audience lost all interest.

In 2022, there is a search for the seeds of corruption and a limitation of power. If a blog is too much power, comparatively people must not have either a free voice or an audience. Control is sometimes nice to have, but ironically it's the division of power that leads to safety.
Making money is a very complex matrix. "Crypto" everything... I clearly love music, but making it in the music industry is a complex thing.
Commerce is controlled, profit is pretty gross. You could be a successful paper airplane maker if people wanted them enough to pay lots of money for them.
Everything is automated which means you either get tricked out of profit, or are non-interacted with by customers.
You can start your own business, but degrees and job positions are wiser than freelance hustles. I say all that to say making money is more about how you do it, then what you do.
