Lil Uzi Vert is a rapper that emerged post-Odd Future simultaneously with Playboi Carti. They invented a rap style that performs like rock live but isn't so intellectual that it alienates hip hop lovers. This album is exactly where hip hop culture is in diction, aesthetic, mentality, and presentation. One critique would be the fact that this sounds like music that you have to already like hip hop to appreciate. He isn't pioneering new markets the way the cover would suggest. The features are nice and some of the songs are fantastic but from a complete song standpoint rather than a specific aspect. With all that said, this album is the best rap album of the year so far, good job Uzi.

Overview
Lil Uzi Vert is a rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is quite the character. His music is light yet hood-focused which is rare. He's a walking cartoon that is simultaneously passionate about his origin. This album can be played in rotation with standard hip hop, but the target audience is vast. Eternal Atake is designed to be a lit performance, not a deep experience. There are skits at the end of most tracks but the tracks themselves are nearly topic-less. He really doesn't have much to say. His money is long, his girl is down... Did I mention his money? Defining Track "Futsal Shuffle" is his debut single from the release and is a fun distraction from the woes of hip hop culture. It isn't revolutionary but his personality is infectious and is a good introduction to black culture. Final Thoughts Lil Uzi Vert is cool, but he isn't a passionate artist. His songs stay about the same level in every release, but thankfully they are still fairly good. "Eternal Atake" is decent, but that creates a relatable-ness and inviting universal quality that draws humble people in.
Overview
Lil Uzi Vert is a rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Luv Is Rage 1.5 is hip hop with more serious singing than most of his music. He is a strange artist. He is very suburban friendly with a hood focus. He collabs almost exclusively with mainstream classic rap artists but all of his songs are designed with equality building complexity.
Defining Track
XO Tour LLif3 is a song about the unfulfilling side of success. The premise is the strain his indifference is putting on the women closest to him. It's a little abstract and he jumps around a bit but the vocals are pretty good.
Final Thoughts
Lil Uzi Vert is cool but his music isn't really the focal point of his hype. It's frustrating to listen to an artist so deeply submerged in the business side of his career try to approach emotion and ethics. Drake's hardest songs have more emotional range than Lil Uzi.
