Audiences seem underwhelmed. The passion in the support has diminished; the rationale behind the hate has gotten lazy. My personal belief is there seems to be a disconnect between the music and the culture.
The audience is radically indoctrinated, but is clinging to an outdated depiction of their culture for the sake of originality. While that may simply be a stylistic choice, non-gentrified content has very little social momentum.
