Kendrick Lamar is rapper from Compton, California. The thing that you have to keep in mind about this album is this is the most unapologetically "black" aligned rap I've ever heard. Tupac had more tact... Kanye has more tact. (Yes, I said it). If you can keep an open mind, you can appreciate his finesse talent and creativity. He calls attention to social issues that most people may have missed, ("The heart part 5" for example). There's an Eminem style showing-off in a lot of these songs, but his love for urban hip hop culture gives this album a legitimacy and authenticity that his fans have come to listen for.
Sometimes, you have to navigate someone else's vision, to solidify your own.

Is your perfect world really that non-diverse?

Can you honestly say you don't benefit from any other race's contributions?

To turn down so many attempts to build bridges, there's no way you're honestly concerned about conflict.

The lack of exceptions suggests that an entire culture has no people you would find as attractive as the least attractive of you own over one cline.

You have to come to the conclusion that they sincerely like segregation, and it's ok.
One thing about hip hop in 2022 is there's a new emphasis on shared/collective identity.

That's not necessarily bad, but a lot of hip hop artists have the same really lukewarm hype. The focus is on the culture, not the music. Even Tyler's "Call Me If You Get Lost" was an attempt to be a part of hip hop culture.

We've been inclusive at times, but we try to maintain quality because lowering the bar shouldn't make indifference towards the genre
