Cultural Access

One of the biggest issues with multi-cultural music is accessibility. The front-runners of indie rap were given an unspoken sanction that the rest of hip hop never had. There are some brave souls that continue to bend the rules, but unlike the origin of segregation being built on fears of corruption, the new segregation mentality is preserving corruption. The fear that people may embrace all people. The fear that they may not be promiscuous. The fear of glorifying ignorance or wanting to join a gang. The music is there. Whatever you listen to is up to you.
